1. Who is responsible
Jean Luc IshimweVon-Aschen-Straße 600

For privacy enquiries, contact hello@muggergolden.com.
2. Delivering and securing this website
Netlify hosts and delivers the website. Requests involve technical connection data such as IP address, time, requested file and information sent by your browser. The purpose is reliable, secure delivery. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, reflecting our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website.
Technical data is processed to respond to requests, investigate faults and protect against abuse. Retention depends on the operational or security purpose, particularly investigation of specific faults or attacks, and applicable legal retention duties. We cannot give a single deletion period covering every technical log and backup. You can request information about retention for a specific request through hello@muggergolden.com.
The Netlify settings for this project were checked on 20 October 2026: Netlify Web Analytics and Real User Monitoring were not enabled. Technical processing for delivery and security is separate from these optional features.
3. Editorial content and external files
The English and German website retrieves published content and editorial settings from Supabase. Your browser connects to the Supabase project for these requests. The associated JavaScript library is delivered through jsDelivr. These services receive the connection data needed to deliver their responses, including your IP address. Published images may also be served from Supabase.
The purpose is to provide editorial content. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is reliable delivery of freely accessible editorial content. Recipients and transfer safeguards are described below. Operational and security logs are separate from published editorial data; retention depends on their technical purpose and necessary legal records.
On 20 October 2026, the primary database region of the Supabase project used by this website was confirmed as West EU (Ireland), eu-west-1. This identifies the primary database region; it does not establish that all support, logging or subprocessor activities take place exclusively within the EU.
4. Letters and the signup pause
New newsletter subscriptions are temporarily paused on this website. The homepages do not display an email input or submit new registrations to Brevo. You can read the journal without subscribing. Financial contributions are not currently accepted through the website either.
Brevo remains in use for existing newsletter contacts. Jean Luc Ishimwe is responsible for the letters; the service provider is Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. Requested letters are sent on the basis of consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent for the future through an email’s unsubscribe link or by contacting hello@muggergolden.com. Withdrawal does not affect earlier processing.
The pause does not delete existing addresses, consent records or opt-outs, or subscribe anyone again. Transactional sending logs are configured for one month of retention; message previews are not retained there. That setting does not automatically determine retention for contact profiles or consent records. Contact profiles serve the requested delivery of letters. After an unsubscribe, necessary suppression records remain to prevent further sending; consent records may be retained for necessary evidence and legal defence. Duration depends on the continuing purpose and applicable legal duties. Brevo can measure opens and link clicks in emails already sent. Anonymous measurement is enabled in the account; this does not establish that all events are separated from contact profiles. The signup flow and its notices will be reviewed before registration reopens.
5. Preferences on your device
When you pause or resume motion, the website saves your choice in your browser's localStorage under mg-reader-motion. This remembers your display preference across visits. This feature does not send that choice to us. You can remove it by clearing this website's browser data; it has no automatic expiry. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; device storage serves the display feature you expressly selected.
The public website contains no separate advertising pixels or embedded social media feeds. Technical processing by hosting and content-delivery services and the existing newsletter processing described above are separate from this.
6. Links and enquiries
Social media links are ordinary links. You visit the relevant service only when you open one. If you contact us, we process the information you provide to respond, under Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR depending on the enquiry. We delete it when it is no longer needed, unless retention duties or necessary legal defence require otherwise.
7. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. Where processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. You can withdraw consent for the future. You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you usually live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.
Technical recipients and international transfers
Netlify, Inc. provides website hosting. Its published processing agreement dated 9 June 2026 provides for covered US transfers under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and EU Standard Contractual Clauses for restricted transfers not covered by that framework. See the Netlify DPA.
Supabase identifies Supabase Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) as its primary processor, supported by Supabase, Inc. (USA) for operations and support. It identifies the Standard Contractual Clauses in its DPA as the safeguard for transfers to Singapore and the US. This project’s primary database is in Ireland. Global content delivery and support may involve other locations.
Library files are loaded through jsDelivr, operated by Volentio JSD Limited (England and Wales) and its delivery partners. Requests can disclose an IP address, browser information, the requested file and time. Its published policy provides for purpose-based retention for operations, analysis and security; it does not establish one fixed number of days for this website.
Provider documents and international processing
Website delivery and newsletter functions use Netlify, Supabase, Brevo and the jsDelivr CDN. Their published privacy and processing documents are linked below. These documents explain processing, safeguards and subprocessors. You can request further information or a copy of the relevant safeguards through hello@muggergolden.com.
- Netlify: privacy and data processing
- Supabase: Data Processing Addendum and data residency and transfers. Supabase describes processing for support, operational data and global content delivery in addition to the selected project region. Selecting Ireland does not exclude those activities.
- Brevo: where to find the processing agreement. Brevo points to the DPA section of its terms of use.
- jsDelivr: privacy information for library delivery
Processing agreements incorporated into the respective terms apply to our use of Netlify, Supabase and Brevo. Processing is not limited exclusively to Europe.
8. Providing information and automated decisions
Reading does not require registration. Technical connection data is needed for delivery; the website cannot load without that processing. We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, under Article 22 GDPR to make decisions about website visitors.
